Furniture, Hardware & Appliance Shopping in Thailand

Chain stores in Thailand that supply the basic furniture, home furnishings (curtains, carpets, cushions) white goods and electrical appliances (fridges, stoves, kettles, washing machines and tumble dryers, dishwashers, TVs and computers) for your home.

What follows is a small selection of furniture, appliance and DIY hardware chain stores generally found throughout Thailand. There is no guarantee that anyone will speak English, although most of the larger branches may have a staff member who speaks enough English to help with enquiries.

Hypermarkets, Supermarkets & Superstores

Most of the stores below stock a wide range of items as well as food. The bigger stores also sell furniture, white goods, home appliances and hardware.

  • Tops: Large supermarket chain that offers a wide range of food and other products. It also stocks products from Waitrose in the UK and provides home delivery
  • Carrefour: Has a number of hypermarkets and supermarkets throughout Thailand. It sells many food and domestic products and most stores offer a home delivery service
  • Tesco Lotus: A joint venture between Tesco from the UK and a local Thai company. Has many branches in Bangkok and throughout Thailand stocking a wide range of products from food items to hardware
  • Big C: Large supermarket chain with many stores in Bangkok and in most Thai provinces
  • Makro: Has 29 stores in Thailand and is a cash and carry wholesaler offering food and non-food items
  • OTOP – Thailand Export Mart: OTOP (One Tambon One Product) has outlets all over the country. OTOP products are part of a nationwide sustainable development project to promote products made by local communities. Each sub district area (Tambon) produces art and craft products, agricultural products and food that are then sold in a variety of outlets including shops, airports and annual fairs
Furniture & Appliance Shops

There is a large number of smaller, local furniture and appliance shops nationwide often having staff that can speak some English. For larger stores with many outlets click on the links below:

  • Index Living Mall: Provides a large range of home furnishings, lighting, wallpaper, curtains, carpets, decorative accessories and also stocks hardware and electrical goods
  • Central Department Store: Owns 14 shopping malls or stores in Thailand that include a Central store with furniture and home appliances
  • Powerbuy: Part of the Central group. Has a large range of electronic goods for sale, including washing machines, televisions, DVD players and computers
  • Koncept: National chain of shops selling home furnishings
  • Homepro: Stocks a large range of products including household furniture, many DIY items, garden supplies, electrical items and tools
Building Material, Hardware & DIY

There is a huge number of local building material and hardware stores nationwide. Some have staff that can speak a small amount of English in areas where foreigners commonly live. For larger stores with many outlets click on the links below:

  • homeWorks: (in Thai) Part of the Central group, it stocks a large range of hardware and DIY items
  • Homepro: A large range of products including many DIY items, garden supplies, electrical items, tools and household furniture
Office Supplies & Stationery
  • Office Depot: (in Thai) Part of the Central group and found in Central shopping malls. Supplies all kinds of office equipment including stationery, office furniture and printers
  • Makro: Cash and carry wholesaler with a wide range of office products; furniture, telephones, photocopiers, fax machines
  • Index Living Mall: Stocks a range of furniture for the office including desks, chairs and partition walls
