I've stayed in the Marriott by the river a couple of times - think it might be called Anatara now - and that was excellent. Great swimming pool and lots of space, but there are more central hotels, like the Sheraton or Shangri La
But all the hotels most of the staff love the kids and they get lots of attention, its the Thai way, and one of the characteristics that isn't changing as they get more and more saturated with tourists!
We always used to recommend friends to stay at the Peninsula, but they had to have the money to pay the bill!
