Baseball - Want to play?

Play Ball! (hardball, that is!)

My name is Keith Roban and I'm from California. For 20 years, up until July of 2011 when I moved to Bangkok, I played amateur baseball, (baseball, not softball), in the BAMSBL, (Bay Area Men's Senior Baseball League). It's located in the San Francisco Bay Area in California. I also organized pickup games on weekends when there were no BAMSBL games scheduled.

My goal is to establish an amateur baseball league for adults in Bangkok and throughout Thailand where there's interest and to also to help grow the game of baseball here in Thailand. But mostly I just want to play ball!

What I see happening is we will start holding weekly practices with the available players. It'll be myself and whoever else shows up. 16 players is enough for a game so when we reach that number of players regularly showing up we can start having games. When there are enough players to establish 4 teams, (at least 36 players, 9 per team, preferably 12 or so per team), we will create a schedule of games with playoffs.

If you're interested in playing real baseball, not softball, please let me know.

I know its Softball not Baseball, but unless you've contacted them already the Bangkok International Softball League could be a could place to look for potential players.

But not knowing much about baseball or softball I could be barking up the completely wrong tree?!

yes, i'm interested.

i was born here but spent most of my time in brooklyn, NY.  i just moved this way almost 2 years ago for work so i come and go every 3-4 months.

i haven't played organized ball since little league in japan but i do try to keep in shape.

it would be cool to play some ball here in thailand.  if you can provide me with more info as to where/when, i can definitely show up.  i have my own infielders glove and a catcher's mitt.

thx.

Hi,

I will be moving to Thailand around July/Aug time frame from Los Angeles.  I love baseball and would be interested in helping you grow the sport in Thailand.  I'm probably too old and broken to play.  But I can help coach, recruit and help grow the sport.  I broke my back in 1992 and it's been giving me trouble ever since.  I could probably be a fill in player if needed.  Whatever I can do to help, just let me know.
