Getting married in Thailand can range from being a fairly simple process of filling in the forms and obtaining a certificate, to a traditional and elaborate religious ceremony. As a wedding can take months of preparation, it's best to start sooner rather than later!

Thailand is welcoming to most foreigners wishing to marry here but even so, be aware that there are steps to follow when planning a legally recognised marriage in Thailand. It all starts with an affirmation of freedom to marry.
