The School Bell Tolls

It's been that time of year for parents with children in international schools: preparing kids to go "back to school". Some children may have the excitement and fear of going to school for the very first time, others may have started at a new school, maybe even in a new country! With all of this activity, it makes sense to know what to expect from the school year ahead.

the basics of back to school

AngloINFO has comprehensive INFOrmation Page on Schooling in Thailand. It explains everything you need to know on the workings of the education system for state and private international schooling. Special Needs Education in Thailand explains the facilities available for Thai and foreign children in Bangkok.

In the Education & Training category of The AngloFILE directory of English-speaking businesses, you'll find all the local international and English-language schools, along with after-school support and education resources for parents of children of all ages.

To help you plan the year ahead, you can refer to the page School Holidays in Bangkok for an explanation of school vacation days.

It can be stressful time, so make sure you have the information you need to make the process as easy as possible. And if you have any questions for other anglophone parents living locally, why not ask them on the Families & Kids Discussion Forum?
